Whether you're an inveterate fisherman or simply curious about the way of life of local fishermen, this excursion promises you total immersion in the skin of a local fisherman, a "vie ma vie" for a day. Fishing is an integral part of village life on Thailand's west coast, an ancestral activity that still sustains many villages. Although it has remained traditional, it is no less effective. You can try your hand at three different types of fishing during the day, under the guidance of fishermen who will give you their best tips for a good bite.

Morning
Meeting with fishermen and Amazon landscapes
You’ll reach an authentic fishing village near Kuraburi, where you’ll board traditional boats alongside local fishermen. The morning begins with crab fishing from handcrafted traps. This first fishing trip takes place in the heart of the mangrove swamp, a preserved environment where nature has reclaimed its rights and the scenery looks straight out of the Amazon.
Net fishing along wild coasts
You can try your hand at traditional net fishing right from Koh Prathong beach. This inhabited but very wild island, unknown to tourists, is one of the unspoilt jewels of the west coast and has retained all its charm.
Afternoon
Grills and typical Thai picnics
After a hard day’s work, the fishermen will prepare your morning’s catch on an improvised barbecue. You’ll also be treated to a traditional picnic of local flavors, including chicken kebabs, grilled vegetables and fresh fruit. Before re-boarding the fishing boat, you can enjoy a siesta under the shade of the trees or a swim in the clear waters of Koh Phra Tong.
Sea fishing
Then head for the waters off Koh Ra island, where you’ll have the chance to line fish from the boat. The fishermen will give you the best tips and choose the spots according to the day’s fishing. In the middle of the sea, with no sound except the lapping of the waves on the boat’s hull, this suspended moment is a real moment of peace and sharing with the fishermen.

What do we do with today's catch?
Part of the catch is barbecued for lunch. The second part of the fish caught in the afternoon will be given to the fishermen for redistribution to village families.
Is there any swimming during the day?
During the stopover on Koh Phra Thong for net fishing and lunch, you can enjoy some free time after the barbecued fish for a stroll or a swim.
