James Bond Island and its rocky landscapes

Set off on a long-tail boat, the traditional local craft, for Koh Tapu, famed as James Bond Island, location of the film “The Man with the Golden Gun”. Take a tour of the island, then stop off on the beach to take home the famous James Bond rock shot.

A walk through mangroves and mysterious caves

To explore the beauty of this region’s karst landscapes, there’s nothing better than a canoe trip. Guided by a local paddler, you’ll canoe through the mangrove swamps, up close to the rock formations and discover secret caves – a pure delight for nature lovers.

Afternoon

The famous floating village of Koh Panyee

Continue your journey to the floating village of Koh Panyee, famous for its floating soccer pitch. This Muslim village is built entirely on water. Enjoy a local-flavored lunch, then stroll through the narrow streets of this unusual village.

Temple of the Reclining Buddha

Back at the pier, you’ll set off again for the Suwan Khuha temple, just 10 minutes away, home to a huge reclining Buddha statue. The temple’s architecture is unusual in that it was built entirely in a cave and is now guarded by long-tailed macaques.

What to wear to the temple

For men: pants or Bermuda shorts below the knee and a top covering the shoulders. For women: pants or skirt below the knee and top covering the shoulders (no cleavage). Open-toed shoes for easy removal at the temple entrance.

Yes, you’ll find small local stores on the floating village where you can buy local souvenirs and handicrafts. You’ll also have time to wander the narrow streets and discover the local culture.
